I still remember sitting in the bleachers, watching my daughter fall in love with volleyball while I quietly admitted to myself that I had no clue how college recruiting worked.
I was a lawyer and entrepreneur, not a coach or former athlete. What I did have was a father's determination. I decided that if there was a path to a scholarship, I would find it, study it, and turn it into a plan my family could follow.
Early on, I realized that talent alone would not organize emails, research schools, or decode coach messages. My family sat down at the kitchen table and assigned roles.
My daughter focused on performance and academics, I handled research and strategy, and together we learned how to communicate with coaches. The plan was not perfect, but it was intentional. Step by step, that structure carried her between local courts and serious Division I conversations.
When my daughter finally signed her full Division I scholarship and later walked across stages with both an undergraduate degree and an MBA, each debt-free, I felt gratitude and responsibility at the same time.
I knew other parents were sitting in those same bleachers, just as confused as I once was. My mission became simple, share the roadmap, mistakes and all, so other families could chase scholarships with clarity and real hope.
Founder of Volleyball Scholarship Consulting & Educational Resources
As a proud father who successfully guided my daughter to a Division I volleyball scholarship, I understand the challenges and complexities of the recruiting process. With no prior experience in the world of college sports recruitment, my family and I had to figure it all out ourselves.
From understanding the timelines to crafting the right communications with coaches, every step was a learning experience. Through dedication and a clear strategy, we not only secured a scholarship but also paved the way for her to play in the NCAA Tournament three times and win three NCAA Conference Championships.
I wrote my book, Volleyball Can Pay for Your College Education, to share the insights, strategies, and lessons I learned during this journey. My mission is to help families who are navigating the recruiting process with the same knowledge and support I wish I had when we started.
Today, I offer personalized consultation services, webinars, and resources to ensure your volleyball scholarship journey is as successful as mine. Whether you’re just starting or are deep into the process, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
